Setting up a OneNote classroom

With a view to facilate students’ active engagement within and outside the classroom in this module we will be using a OneNote classroom. This platform allows for various types of interactions, inclusive of group work, and it can be very handy in encouraging engagement with the module content throughout the semester.

This is a highly flexible collaborative working space. It is adopted for this module also to help students to further develop their generic transferable skills.

This academic year it will be a learning experience — as this module will be the first one in the Law School to avail of this platform. We hope to reflect on its use in due course.

On the photo attached you can see Mr Richard Summerville, the Computer Officer in the Law School and Dr Marek Martyniszyn, the Module Coorodinator– setting up the OneNote platform for this module.

Distinguished visiting speaker to give a class in March 2019

We are delighted to inform that Professor Tadashi Shiraishi from the University of Tokyo (Japan) accepted our invitation. He will deliver a guest lecture to students taking this module in March 2019. The lecture will focus on exploitative abuses in a comparative perspective.

Terrific teaching venue secured

The University designated a terrific venue for the weekly sessions in this module. All the classes will take place in the Moot Court in the School of Law. This is the centrepoint of the building of the School. It is a flexible interactive teaching and learning space which can be configured, for example, for mooting, debates, a variety of group work exercises, or video interactions.
