It\u2019s based on the central timetabling system, and all classes labelled as \"<em data-start=\"660\" data-end=\"675\">lectures\" (LT)<\/em> are included (Policy 6.1). However, lecturers have full discretion to opt out of automated recording for any reason (Policy 6.2). For example, you may prefer to record manually, or you may have pedagogic, privacy, or personal reasons not to record.<\/p><p><strong data-start=\"960\" data-end=\"974\">\ud83d\udce2 Important:<\/strong> If you\u2019d like to record manually, or not record at all, you must actively opt out of automation. If a class is not labelled as a 'lecture' on the timetable, it will not be recorded unless you decide to record it manually. If you decide to opt out of all lectures, your decision will be respected (Policy 6.2). <\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW228800436 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW165696931 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165696931 BCX0\"><strong>Note:<\/strong> It is recommended that only lecturers change their recording settings. However, if needed, staff with a Teacher, TA or Course Designer role in the Canvas module can change the recording settings. This arrangement should be discussed in advance with the lecturer. If my lecture is two hours long, will it continue across both hours?  <\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t<div id=\"collapse-1176\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse \" data-bs-parent=\"#accordion-6ab581b0d7e8a\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"heading-1176\">\n\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p data-start=\"127\" data-end=\"199\">Recordings begin<strong> 5 minutes after the scheduled lecture start time<\/strong> and end <strong>5 minutes before the scheduled finish time<\/strong>. This is to allow the lecturer time to get ready for teaching and to wrap up the class without being recorded.\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"127\" data-end=\"199\">For two-hour lectures, the recording will continue through to the next hour unless the lecturer stops or pauses it (i.e. for a comfort break).\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"262\" data-end=\"276\">For example:<\/p><ul data-start=\"277\" data-end=\"424\"><li data-start=\"277\" data-end=\"350\"><p data-start=\"279\" data-end=\"350\">A one-hour lecture scheduled 10:00\u201311:00 will record <strong data-start=\"332\" data-end=\"347\">10:05\u201310:55<\/strong>.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"351\" data-end=\"424\"><p data-start=\"353\" data-end=\"424\">A two-hour lecture scheduled 10:00\u201312:00 will record <strong data-start=\"406\" data-end=\"421\">10:05\u201311:55<\/strong>.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW98865304 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW98865304 BCX0\"><strong>Note:<\/strong> For automated recording to begin, you must be logged in to the teaching room PC, but you do not need to launch Panopto yourself.
