Seven Steps to Getting Started

  1. Prepare
    Work through the initial lesson in ‘Getting Started with Canvas at Queen’s’ online course or register for a Canvas training session. Click below to view full programme of training available to you. View all Training & Events
  2. Collect and Appraise
    Find the text-based, graphic, audio and video resources that you want to use in your module. Review old resources to ensure relevancy.
  3. Organise and Upload
    Create folders to organise and upload your resources in the ‘Files’ area.
  4. Welcome Page
    Edit the Welcome page with relevant information for your module.
  5. Introduction Section
    Edit the template pages within the Introduction section to fit your course.
  6. Populate
    Think about how to structure your course and then add your content.
  7. Enhance Engagement
    Add activities that will engage students further (eg. Discussions, Quizzes, Conferences).
