QUB architecture students visions for change in Belfast's Sandy Row (Belfast Telegraph)

Architects constantly look outside the design and construction of buildings to the landscape around and beyond for inspiration and for new territories in the creation of the built environment.
Increasingly the world we find is comprised of existing communities evolving in parallel with the city; Sandy Row is one such community.
The third year architecture students of Queen’s University Belfast have been working on master plans for the regeneration of Sandy Row and the surrounding area; in an attempt to discover how best to address the decline of recent decades.
The results of our research are shown in the summaries of 12 master plans.By Aodh O’Neill
