Not only is Web of Science<\/a> a leading database for finding scientific literature, it also enables you to save your search or set up an email alert\u00a0for any new papers matching your search criteria.\u00a0 This saves having to re-run the same search periodically as Web of Science will do this for you, and email you the results.<\/p>\n

In order to use the \u2018save search\/create alert\u2019 feature, you firstly need to register for an account with Web of Science.\u00a0 To do this, go to Web of Science and click on \u2018Register\u2019.\u00a0 Once you have created your account, click on \u2018Sign In\u2019 and enter your details:<\/p>\n

The next step is to run your search.\u00a0 Once you have done this and your results are displayed, click on ‘create alert’ to\u00a0the left of your results:<\/p>\n

Next, give your alert a name \u2013 and deselect the \u2018Send me email alerts\u2019 box if you do not wish to receive emails.\u00a0 Then click \u2018Create Alert\u2019:<\/p>\n

All done!\u00a0 Your alert will be confirmed – to view and configure your saved searches and alerts, click on \u201cManage alerts” or the \u201cSaved Searches\u201d button on the top bar. Here you can change whether or not you would like to receive emails for new papers matching the search, the frequency of emails, or you can simply re-run the search:<\/p>\n
