Queen\u2019s University Belfast has been closely monitoring the ongoing escalation of measures that are being applied to limit the spread of the Covid-19 (coronavirus) across the UK, including the additional measures announced by the UK Government on the 16th March.<\/p>\n
As a result of this, the AFBI Library will provide a fully remote service from Monday 23rd<\/sup> March until further notice.\u00a0 As a predominately electronic library, AFBI Library members will be able to continue to use and access all library resources and services, with full support provided by library staff working remotely.<\/p>\n Please note that all AFBI Libraries will remain open for AFBI staff to access.<\/strong><\/p>\n As a predominately electronic library, AFBI Library members can access all e-resources from either on-site (at AFBI) or off-site (from home).<\/p>\n When you are accessing e-resources from either on-site or off-site, you will need to use your Library login, this is the username and password<\/strong>\u00a0provided when you joined the Library, unless you have changed your password.\u00a0 If you are unsure of your AFBI Library username and\/or password, please get in touch via afbilib@qub.ac.uk<\/a><\/p>\n You should use\u00a0AFBI\u00a0Library <\/a><\/strong>as a starting point and\u00a0use the following services to search:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Borrowing<\/strong><\/p>\n As AFBI Library collections will remain accessible, you can still borrow books.\u00a0 Simply choose the books you wish to take, then email afbilib@qub.ac.uk<\/a> with the barcodes of the books you wish to borrow.\u00a0 The Library will reply with a list of titles and due dates. <\/p>\n Print Journals <\/strong><\/p>\n All AFBI Library print journals are accessible in the Library.\u00a0 You can use the MFD copier to print\/copy or scan articles from journals.\u00a0 Use the AFBI Library Catalogue<\/a> to search for and locate print journals held in the Library<\/p>\n Unfortunately, there will be delays in receiving and processing current print titles, however the links below will give you access to some of the content from our current print journals:<\/p>\n New Scientist<\/a> <\/p>\n Interlibrary Loans<\/strong><\/p>\n The AFBI Library will continue to process interlibrary loan requests for items which can be electronically delivered such as book chapters, articles, conference papers and reports.\u00a0 All interlibrary loan requests must be submitted via the Place Request<\/a> link.<\/p>\n Please note that library staff will no longer be able to print and post article requests from the British Library. To receive them electronically to your desktop, it is necessary to register with the British Library.
