Here we go again…

Tuesday, January 25th, 2011

Welcome back and hope everyone had a good break over Christmas. It’s been a really busy January – I’ve been buried under piles of books and cups of coffee the last few weeks and just about made it out alive!

So, it’s now 2011 – the year before the Olympics, and the year before we jump out into the real world and try and get that dream career/job. But are you too late? You might be thinking so as you stumble out of the exam hall or the library at 2 in the morning, finally free from exams and coursework…but don’t worry, with a bit of planning you’ll be grand. Visit the Queen’s Careers website to look at Job Vacancies (or placement and postgraduate funding opportunities). They do still exist!

Now’s the time to look ahead and see what deadlines are out there and start planning those job applications. While you’re looking, it’s also a good time to check on the Careers website to see what workshops, information or one-to-one sessions there are to help you get up to speed on your career plans. You can also check out Queen’s Careers on facebook and twitter. Relax before the new semester starts but if you make time for a little planning ahead too it will certainly help!

Keep an eye on this Blog throughout the Spring semester – there’s plenty more to come each week starting from the week beginning 7 February.
