Dartmoor Arts Project

spatial-structures3-main
Dartmoor Arts aims to provide ground-breaking and innovative courses as part of our summer school, taught by practitioners who shape and inform contemporary practice. Spatial Structures is a unique and pioneering course that offers students the chance to work directly in the landscape and build at 1:1, something that is not usually offered as part of architectural training.
Students on this course will work together as a group throughout the week, making group decisions, from concept, to design and construction.
The entire week will be spent working outdoors on site just outside Drewsteignton in a rural location. A lot of physical labour is involved as this is very much a hands on course working with materials directly. On the final day a group critique will be held to discuss and review the project and students will get constructive feedback from Jerry and Henry. Architecture students who participated in 2012 described it as one of the most valuable experiences, one that would help them enormously in their chosen careers.
