International Design Award for QUB Architecture Students

Queen’s Architecture students team comprising five Year Out Students has recently received the 2nd place award for their entry in the International Design Competition for “Ajman as Event City: A Future Vision”. In winning this prize, our team beat a team from Harvard Graduate School of Design in a five-teams shortlisted institutions. Queen’s Team is formed from  James Foskett (Coordinator), Joanne Marshall, George Mathers, Amy Meddings, and Mark Thompson. The team is led by Dr. Mohamed Gamal Abdelmonem.
The team has exhibited their entry and received their Award from His Highness Sheikh Humaid Rashed Al-Nauimi, the Ruler of Ajman at the 7th International Ajman Urban Planning Conference and in the attendance of the mayors of Edinburgh, Perth and Bilbao on 2nd March 2015 at Ajman City conventional Centre.

An exhibition of our team entry will take place in Architecture Exhibition @ Queen’s University between 8th April -15th May 2015.
