Sophie Le-Bourva has an international reputation as an innovating design engineer identifying design opportunities and synergies between and across disciplines. Her portfolio includes the Millennium Bridge in London, collaborations with Zaha Hadid, Richard Rogers, Norman Foster, Shigeru Ban, OMA, and Future Systems. This is the first of a series of lectures from leading international design practitioners in the built environment and builds on the legacy of Peter Rice, the design engineer of some of the most significant structures in the latter half of the twentieth century. The School of Planning Architecture and Civil Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast, invites all to this, the first of a series of annual lectures that will be of interest to engineers, architects, and all interested in the potential of design to improve the built environment and enhance and support human experience.
